Knife-wielding fiend in subway punches female cop in the face: NYPD

An NYPD Transit police officer was punched in the face while responding to calls of a man with a knife at a crowded Midtown subway station Saturday afternoon, cops said.

The female officer was at Rockefeller Center Station on the BDFM line when the brute slugged her around 4:45 p.m., police said.

The fiend dropped the knife and fled up to the street to get away, police said. 

The officer refused medical treatment.

The knife was recovered on the scene, cops said.
