Signature style: My jewelry style is polished bohemian. I love wearing a lot of rings (including a Bulgari B.zero1 white gold three-band) and a signature watch (Panthère de Cartier) with something personal and unexpected around my neck. The last two years I’ve been obsessed with my apple necklaces from Renard Bijoux.

First piece of jewelry: A gold chain necklace with the spelling of my name on it — very Carrie Bradshaw.

First jewelry splurge: A stainless-steel Rolex with a silver face. It was a big accomplishment.
Iconic red-carpet moment: Margot Robbie [at the 2015 Oscars, right] in a classic black Saint Laurent dress, stunning Van Cleef & Arpels statement necklace and a red lip … a forever moment.

Dream jewel: A vintage, gold shawl collar from the late ’60s or early ’70s from Cartier. Or Bulgari’s Serpenti Spiga double-spiral watch in rose gold with diamonds and a malachite face.

Secret tip: Don’t overthink it. [Jewelry] should feel great and easy to wear, as though it is a part of your style. Invest in key pieces, like a great vintage watch.

Signature style: I prefer to collect jewelry, like the miniature works of art that they can be. When I wear a piece formally, I appreciate great design and pieces that are beautifully made, whether cuff links or a great statement brooch.

First piece of jewelry: A gold Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. watch my parents bought me for high school graduation.

First jewelry splurge: A little Bulgari ruby, steel and gold bracelet for my mom, bought at auction, of course! It was not a lot of money, but to a kid in college working part time, it was a splurge.

Iconic red-carpet moments: Eva Mendes [right] in a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels turquoise and diamond Panka necklace styled by Rachel Zoe for the 2009 Golden Globes. Before my time, Marlene Dietrich wearing her own Van Cleef & Arpels ruby and diamond Jarretière bracelet to the Oscars in 1951. Interestingly, it was recently offered at auction by Christie’s.

Dream jewel: That’s like picking a favorite child! The first one that comes to mind is Daisy Fellowes’ Cartier Tutti Frutti necklace [far right] from 1936. I think it is one of the most beautiful objects on this earth.

Secret tip: Buy less, buy better. My favorite saying of all time: “Buy the best, and you’ll only cry once.”
