Megyn Kelly claps back at John Legend, calls wife Chrissy Teigen a ‘needy, attention-starved bully’

Megyn Kelly blasted Chrissy Teigen as a “needy, attention-starved bully” after the supermodel’s husband, John Legend, came to her defense and denounced the SiriusXM host.

Kelly on Monday responded to Legend, who took issue with Kelly’s criticism of his wife for “showing her underpants” and having “serfs” and “minions” help carry her dress to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC, last week.

Kelly slammed Legend after the EGOT-winning artist defended his wife and dismissed the former Fox News star as someone who “likes attention” and was “desperate” to get back into the good graces of Donald Trump after “she pissed all the conservatives off when she asked Trump a tough question.”

“She can just shut up,” Legend said.

His comments were reported on Thursday by TMZ.

On her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Monday, Kelly hit back at both Legend and Teigen.

“John Legend had some choice words for yours truly after I mocked his elitist, out-of-touch wife for having her minions carrying her ‘train’ to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner while she was showing off her underwear,” Kelly said during her podcast on Monday.

Kelly said the outfit Teigen wore to the annual DC gathering of journalists, politicians and celebrities was “an absurd thing on many levels because this wasn’t the coronation [of King Charles] or a soft porn movie.”

“It was nerd prom with White House reporters and D-list entertainers,” Kelly said.

Kelly offered a “couple of quick corrections” for Legend, saying that she had the “No. 2 news podcast” in the US.

“We’re good on the audience, John,” Kelly said.

Kelly then took aim at Legend’s suggestion that she was “desperate for attention.”

“Sweet John, it must be so hard to live with that on your arm and in your bed every day and night and see anything else as you survey the women of this world,” Kelly said.

Kelly then referred to Teigen’s 2020 social media post in which she shared a photo of her in a hospital bed as she held her 20-week-old fetus after suffering what was then termed a miscarriage.

In September 2020, Teigen revealed that she lost her pregnancy at 20 weeks.

Teigen posted photos of herself crying in her hospital bed to her tens of millions of followers on Instagram.

Legend was sitting beside Teigen in one of the photos posted to Instagram.

Two years later, Teigen revealed that her child died as a result of what she termed “a life-saving abortion.”

“When she takes photos of her abortion and treats it as a PR opp — something that should be the most private and intimate of moments in a couple’s life — it’s probably extremely uncomfortable,” Kelly said.

Kelly added: “Oh wait, John Legend was there too, wasn’t he?”

“He also thought that moment would make a great photo opp too, a chance to promote their ‘brand,'” Kelly said.

“How dare you lecture anyone on ‘needing attention,’ sir.”

Kelly took Legend to task for defending his wife after she “and her cast of serfs” were “carrying her train.”

“The truth is Chrissy Teigen has a long and dark history of treating people like excrement,” Kelly said, referencing the June 2021 incident in which the cookbook author apologized for telling 16-year-old Courtney Stodden to commit suicide.

“No need to reinvent the wheel here,” Kelly said.

“Chrissy Teigen is a sick, relentless, cruel, self-aggrandizing, needy, attention-starved bully.”

Kelly added: “She deserves every bit of criticism she gets.”

“And trust me, there’s plenty more in our arsenal if Mr. Legend would like to continue the argument.”

The Post has sought comment from Teigen’s representatives.
