Kim Kardashian hired acting coach for ‘American Horror Story’ amid backlash

Kim Kardashian apparently isn’t too frightened of her new role in “American Horror Story: Delicate.”

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star, 42, will appear in the 12th season of Ryan Murphy’s scary anthology series later this year — and she hired an acting coach to help hone her skills for the show.

“We start shooting my stuff at the end of this month. But production has already started and I’m so excited,” the reality TV personality told Variety at the Met Gala on Monday night.

“I’m so excited for the experience,” the Skims founder said of returning to television — outside of the reality realm — after her 2021 “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig.

“It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself,” Kardashian confessed, already in prep mode. “It’s really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow.”

The mother of four’s casting was announced last month, and she will join stars Emma Roberts, Matt Czuchry, Cara Delevingne, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and Odessa A’zion.

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the ‘AHS’ family,” Murphy told the Hollywood Reporter last month.

“Emma [Roberts] and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture,” the “Glee” creator added. “[Screenwriter] Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”

The Skims founder opened up about her upcoming role on “American Horror Story” at the Met Gala on Monday. Variety

The upcoming season of “AHS” is based on the novel “Delicate Condition” by Danielle Valentine, which will be released in August and is reminiscent of the horror flick “Rosemary’s Baby,” but with a “feminist update,” reads a press release for the show.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Murphy and Kardashian have been pals for some time, with the “Eat, Pray, Love” director, 57, being impressed with her “SNL” appearance two years ago.

The two began talking over her “AHS” role last summer, and the character is said to be a “unique” one. However, full details about her part have yet to be revealed and are being kept under wraps.

While many fans are excited to see Kardashian in the franchise, some people aren’t too happy about her new gig.

Broadway icon Patti LuPone — who appeared in the third and 11th seasons of the show — ripped into Kardashian during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” on April 24.

“Do you give a damn that Kim Kardashian is now acting in Season 12 of ‘American Horror Story’?” the Bravo host, 54, asked.

“Yes, I do!” LuPone, 74, exclaimed.

Patti LuPone appeared on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live” last month, at which time she said that she didn’t want Kardashian to be cast in “American Horror Story.” Bravo

“Why? Because she’s taking away a role from an actor?” Cohen wondered as the Long Island native shook her head in agreement.

“Excuse me, Kim. What are you doing with your life? Don’t get on the stage, Mrs. Worthington!” LuPone said.

The statement about Mrs. Worthington references a Noël Coward song about a momager who places her ugly daughter onstage.

“Whatever she said, I double the emotion,” LuPone’s “WWHL” co-guest John Leguizamo interjected.

Kardashian has also lent her acting talents to features such as the parody film “Disaster Movie,” the drama “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor” and “PAW Patrol: The Movie.”
