Michael Irvin ‘remains suspended’ by NFL Network following Super Bowl incident

Michael Irvin will not participate in NFL Network’s upcoming 2023 NFL Draft coverage — two months after he was accused of misconduct by a female hotel employee in Arizona during Super Bowl week.

The Hall of Famer, who was a prominent fixture at past NFL Drafts, was not included in this year’s contributors list for the network and “remains suspended,” Alex Riethmiller, the NFL media vice president of communications, told The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday.

This draft kicks off from Kansas City next week.

The 57-year-old Irvin has been sidelined from his media responsibilities since February, when he was removed from his TV duties — from both ESPN and NFL Network — in light of the accusations.

The Dallas Cowboys alum has vehemently maintained his innocence and filed a $100 million lawsuit against Marriott, alleging he’s being “railroaded” with false accusations.

Irvin released footage last month that features the encounter between the former NFL star and his accuser, which lasts roughly under two minutes.

Irvin claims he spoke to the employee about his sports media career and shook her hand.

At another point in the video, Irvin can be seen touching the employee’s arm before the two parted ways.

The video’s release came days after Marriott filed a motion in relation to the suit, which alleged Irvin displayed aggressive behavior towards the hotel employee.

Irvin’s attorney has denied the allegations.

When the opening round of the 2023 NFL Draft gets underway next Thursday, “Sunday Night Football’s” Melissa Stark will interview the prospects following their selection.

According to a release by NFL Network, Rich Eisen, Kurt Warner, Charles Davis, and Ian Rapoport, among others, will also be part of the coverage for night one.
