Donald Trump’s gold-plated Boeing 757 got a makeover before indictment hearing

On Monday, media across the land televised former president Donald Trump’s expedition from Mar-a-Lago to New York City as his historic arraignment was just around the corner.

And while Americans saw enough of Trump’s private Boeing 757 jet from the exterior —famously emblazoned with his name — interior shots of the aircraft remained scarce.

The plane, which Trump has flown since 2011, recently received a brand new makeover.

Trump often refers to the aircraft as “Trump Force One.”

First flying back in 1991, it was operated by now-defunct carriers Sterling Airways in Denmark and TAESA Airlines in Mexico.

Before the Boeing 757 sold to Trump, it also spent time as a corporate aircraft for the now-late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.

Trump purchased the plane for a whopping $100 million and it would become a symbol for all of his 2016 campaign rallies throughout the United States. Often you saw Trump giving a speech in front of a podium, with the plane used as his backdrop.

During his presidency, Trump’s beloved plane was used by other members of his family between 2017 to 2019; he was forced to fly on the government’s Air Force One aircraft.

After 2019, the plane sat idle for two years at Stewart International Airport in New York before flying to Louisiana in November 2021 for refurbishment.

On his website, in May 2021, Trump announced that the plane would be “fully restored and updated” and “used at upcoming rallies.”

Some of the updates include a new flashy paint job, maintenance work, upholstering and adding modern finishes.

Aircraft refinishing company Landlocked Aviation undertook the project. Company president Tyson Grenzebach revealed in July that the job took 40 people and about a month to complete.

The main body of the aircraft was painted in a fresh navy blue color with an American flag placed at its tail.

His signature Trump name was painted in gold at the front of the aircraft.

Trump had intentions of showing off the flashy plane during his 2024 presidential campaign. However, he ultimately decided to take his arraignment in New York City as the opportunity to reveal his new aircraft.

The back of the plane features a galley and a small kitchen complete with a sink, coffee makers, snacks and glassware.

Made up of 43 seats, there is a first class cabin area, and a dining area with a lounge and couches.

Televisions are scattered throughout. Trump’s son, Eric, gave viewers a peek of the plane from yesterday’s travels.

Back in 2011, the Trump Organization’s SVP of marketing and corporate communications, Amanda Miller, said in a 2011 video tour that the seatbelts and other finishes are 24K gold-plated.

The headrests and pillows have been etched with the Trump family crest.

Other features shown in the 2011 video include the main lounge, which features the SkyTheater with a 57-inch TV and sound system that replicates a “Hollywood screening room.”

There are also several bedrooms including two couches that convert into a double bed.

Trump has his own bedroom that comes with a theater system and a work desk. His private bathroom was last shown with a green green marble countertop and a gold-plated sink.

The Post has reached out to Trump’s reps for comment.

Trump is set to appear at Manhattan criminal court Tuesday to be arraigned on dozens of charges related to alleged hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels — the first time in American history a former president will face criminal charges. Many have said the arraignment is purely political.

Trump blasted Alvin Bragg, the District Attorney, on the case in a statement calling the indictment a “witch hunt.”

“This is political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history,” Trump said.
