Man fatally stabbed by trio while smoking cigarette inside NYC building

A 31-year-old man was stabbed to death by three attackers as he smoked a cigarette in the hallway of his Brooklyn building late Sunday, cops said. 

Jerry Crichlow was enjoying a smoke inside the apartment building on Crown Street near Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights around 10:25 p.m. when the trio approached and pounced on him, according to police.

Crichlow was stabbed once in the torso and slashed all over his body. He was rushed to the Kings County Hospital Center, where he died. 

It was unclear Monday morning whether the deadly attack was targeted or random. 

The assailants fled, and no arrests have been made. 

The victim has been arrested in the past, mostly for domestic incidents – but does not have an extensive NYPD history, cops said.
