Daniel Jones helps keep Giants loose by hitting the Griddy

Daniel Jones sent Justin Jefferson home from the playoffs and then copied his touchdown dance.

Four days after the Giants eliminated Jefferson’s Vikings in the wild card round, Jones started off practice Thursday by shuffling through a team huddle doing the “Griddy” – a dance popularized by the NFL’s best receiver. It was a bit out of character for the normally robotic (at least in front of the cameras) starting quarterback.

The NFC’s No. 6 seed Giants might not believe in the narrative that their season already is success and they are playing with house money Saturday against the top-seeded Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round playoffs, but they sure looked like a loose team during warmups.

Later in practice, the entire defense danced around coordinator Wink Martindale to the music playing through the speakers in the indoor facility.

“Just joy,” linebacker Jaylon Smith. “We all love each other, we all love this game. We’re happy to be where we are, but we’re not satisfied. You have to make sure you are having fun. A lot of us have been playing since we were 7 years old.”
