Groom’s ‘creepy’ mom wears white, bedazzled gown to son’s wedding
This mother of the groom’s dress begs the question — what the frock?
In celebration of her son’s big day, an unnamed blonde woman donned a floor-length white gown, decked out with a thigh-high slit, pearl and sequin embellishments, a see-through corset and a sweetheart neckline to amplify her ample bosom.
The footage of the mom’s flossy finery, which she completed with a decorative headpiece, went viral on TikTok after a clip was shared by her daughter. The video has racked up more than 174,000 views.
But her ultra-glamorous wedding look has some social media naysayers seeing red.
“Was the bride OK with her wearing white?,” questioned a commentator, accentuating their dismay with the stunned-face emoji.
“It’s the bride’s day, not hers. [I] think it’s a creepy thing to do,” another shamed.
“Why is she wearing white?” barked another. “She wouldn’t be allowed in my wedding, mother or not. It’s not her day it’s theirs.”
The angered comments were apparently rooted in the tradition that no one, other than the blushing bride-to-be, is meant to wear white — or any variation of the color — to a wedding.
Similar outrage recently sparked after another mother of the groom sported a skimpy mini dress for her son’s nuptials.
“It’s the low low cut, high leg ‘look at me’ style of the dress. It just feels super cringe,” said a critic of the black bodycon.
“At least is not white,” chimed in someone else.
But, in the case of the trending mom who did, in fact, wear the forbidden hue to her son’s “I Do’s,” a number of TikTok viewers looked past her wedding fashion faux pas to virtually applaud her radiance.
“She’s the groom’s mom? She looks so young!!! Amazing outfit,” a commentator raved.
“Well damn,” another exclaimed, “If mama look like this the bride better show out!”
