A New York City teenager who was fatally gunned down outside his high school was identified by police Friday — as another teen was slapped with charges related to the possible gang-related shooting.
Mark Greene, 18, was standing at a bus stop outside North Queens Community High School in Kew Gardens Hills around 3 p.m. when he was suddenly blasted by gunfire, law enforcement sources said previously.
Cops recovered a gun at the scene and took two people into custody. Michael Raly, 18, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon on Friday, sources said.
The second person of interest hadn’t been charged as of Friday, according to sources. No one has been charged with the murder yet.
Police suspect the shooting was gang-related and that the victim may have been a gang associate.
The teen was rushed to Jamaica Hospital but could not be saved.
“I told him, ‘Wake up, don’t sleep. Don’t sleep.’ He was breathing but he wasn’t moving,” local resident Ricardo Espinoza told The Post after the incident Thursday, adding the teen was shot three or four times.
The tragedy took place just around the corner from the school, near the corner of 77th Road and Main Street, Espinoza said.
“He put the gun in the pocket of his sweatshirt and ran. He passed me right there, so I just covered my kids and put my kids in the car. He ran all the way down,” said Espinoza, 35.
