Jaguars vs Giants prediction and analysis
The Giants’ path to their current 5-1 record goes far beyond this season. New York spent years trying to establish an identity, all while going through losing seasons with some of its most promising pieces battling injury. But with that ID clear, they currently have one of the best records in the NFL to show for their growing pains.
Much like the Giants of old, Jacksonville is still trying to find itself — but well on its way. Second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence appears comfortable, running back Travis Etienne is acclimating to the league, and the defense is improving ever so slightly each week. It’s not a transformation that’s going to happen overnight, but the Jaguars’ opponent on Sunday shows that it’s a transformation that is, in fact, possible.
Under 42 total points
While New York has started the season strong, it hasn’t been blowing opponents out of the water — or even scoring a lot of points.
The Giants have run a methodical offense that relies heavily on the rushing attack thus far to complement a stout defense. They haven’t been trying to get into shootouts with teams, and it’s an approach that has obviously been working.
On average, New York maintains possession for 31:14 per game while scoring 21.2 points. Opponents are averaging even fewer points against their defense (18.8), creating the perfect storm for a low-scoring affair.
With Jacksonville’s defense surrendering just 19 points per contest and the under being 10-1 in the Jaguars’ last 11 home games against a team with a winning record, the under is too appealing this week.
Our Pick: Under 42.0 total points @ -110 with Caesars Sportsbook

Two total touchdowns in the first half +200
Both the Jaguars and Giants aren’t accustomed to getting off to blazing starts, but they also don’t take the first half off, either.
Sitting somewhere in the middle is what this pick requires — because it’s a bolder one — and that’s exactly what these teams tend to do. Jacksonville is averaging 11.7 points through the first 30 minutes of action, while New York sits at 6.7.
Expect those averages to be a tad lower considering the defensive pushback Sunday’s contest is going to feature, so two first-half touchdowns will likely be the safest bet for a wager like this.
This pick also pairs nicely with the under, making it all the more intriguing.
Our Pick: Two total touchdowns in first half @ +200 with Caesars Sportsbook
Daniel Jones over 195.5 passing yards
Jones has surmounted this mark in just two games this season, and did so by the skin of his teeth, throwing for 217 and 196 yards.
But this week is going to be different because, quite frankly, if the Giants want to win, they’re going to have to rely on Jones and the passing game.
Jacksonville allows just 89.3 rushing yards per game, so the ground-and-pound nature of New York’s offense doesn’t match up well with the Jaguars’ defensive scheme. Matt Ryan shredded Jacksonville for 389 yards through the air in Week 6, so who’s to say Jones can’t throw for 196?
Don’t plan on making Jones’ passing prop a go-to pick on a weekly basis, but in this case, it definitely works.
Our Pick: Daniel Jones to throw for over 195.5 yards @ -115 with Caesars Sportsbook
