Cars line up at a closed McDonald’s drive-thru during Hurricane Ian

They don’t McGet it.

Despite the wild weather raging around them, a TikTok video shows a line-up of cars at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Lakeland, Florida — even though the fast food chain is shut down locally due to Hurricane Ian.

Patrick Lambert posted a clip showing the cars clambering for their fix of Micky D’s, with a long line of hungry locals in cars spilling out onto the street, not realizing it was closed.

In the 15 second clip — which has been viewed over 1.1 million times — Lambert explains the automated drive-thru response was left on during the storm, leading people to believe they could order.

In a follow-up video, which appeared to be taken from Lambert’s home, he showed a steady line still outside.

“It is now 5pm Eastern, and it’s still going on,” he says another clip. “I’ve been here since 8 in the morning. No one at any point today has ever stopped to tell these people it’s actually closed.”

The good Samaritan said he even went down to the McDonald’s to tell people it was shut and made signs.

“I did my best,” he said.

TikTok users commented on the clips, some admitting they were actually there in the line.

“I was there for 30+ minutes nobody told us lol, drove by there a few hrs ago and it was still going on,” a user wrote.

McDonald’s really failed to put a sign?!” another wrote incredulously.

Parts of the Gulf Coast and central Florida have been devastated by Hurricane Ian this week, with a reported death toll of 21 so far. Meanwhile, Puerto Rico has begun their long road to recovery following a beating by Hurricane Fiona last weekend. At least 25 there are reported dead in the aftermath.
