Packers vs. Buccaneers picks and analysis

Green Bay had more to like about Week 2 than Week 1, but despite the good vibes of their bounce-back home win against the Chicago Bears, the Packers know they haven’t been perfect. A fumbled handoff and some shaky snaps stood out.

The Bucs have won their first two games behind a strong defense and a good-enough, if not opportunistic, attack. But health woes are adding up, and even Tom Brady needs help at age 45.

Bucs quarterback Tom Brady was rattled in the team’s Week 2 road victory at New Orleans. Evidence included his throwing a tablet on the bench and engaging in a shouting match with Saints defensive back Marshon Lattimore.

Still, the surefire Hall of Famer overcame those frustrations to lead Tampa Bay to a 17-point fourth quarter en route to a win.

The rally came despite the earlier ejection of Bucs receiver Mike Evans and with Chris Godwin and Julio Jones sidelined with injuries. With Evans suspended for a game for his altercation with Lattimore and Evans and Godwin questionable with injury, can Brady still shine with a thin receiver group against a Packers defense that plays the pass far better than the run?

We — and the Green Bay secondary — think not.

Our Pick: Tom Brady under 1.5 passing touchdowns, @ +100 via BetMGM

Betting on the NFL?

Leonard Fournette over 103.5 rushing and receiving yards

Through two weeks, the Green Bay defense has allowed 306 rushing yards, the fifth-highest total in the NFL. And things have trended wrongly upward for the unit, which surrendered 90 yards to Minnesota’s Dalvin Cook before Chicago’s David Montgomery ran for 122 yards last week.

Fournette is no stranger to shouldering a load — he had 127 yards on the ground in the season opener — and also has been dependable in the passing game, especially with question marks at receiver.

Our Pick: Leonard Fournette over 103.5 rushing and receiving yards

Under 42.5 points scored

The Packers have their own well-documented issues at receiver as Aaron Rodgers works to help a young group jell.

Now comes the challenge of facing a Bucs defense that has yielded just 13 points, stingiest in the league, while amassing an NFL-best 10 sacks. Tampa Bay also has produced six turnovers, returning one for a TD.

With star quarterbacks on both sides, this shouldn’t be a dull game. But with trends of offensive struggle, it could well be low-scoring. Pick: Under 42 points to be scored.

Our Pick: Under 42.5 points scored
