It has been 12 years since Wisconsin last earned a victory over Big Ten rival Ohio State. Don’t expect that to change on Saturday, when the heavily favored Buckeyes will host the Badgers in a game that has blowout written all over it.
Ohio State (-19.5) has looked every bit like a title contender en route to a 3-0 start, which includes victory margins of 33 and 56 points in its last two games. Heisman Trophy favorite C.J. Stroud (313.7 yards per game) has been as sharp as expected, tossing 11 touchdown passes with zero interceptions to lead the nation’s 10th-ranked scoring offense (47.7 ppg).

Wisconsin has put up points against weaker competition, but a 17-14 home loss to unranked Washington State hangs over this group as it prepares for its toughest test yet. The Badgers’ offense is fueled by an ever-potent rushing attack, led by sophomore star Braelon Allen (332 yards, 5 TDs) and senior tailback Chez Mellusi (163 yards, 1 TD), though both will face a tall task against the Buckeyes’ top-25 rushing defense (84.3 ypg).

Ultimately, this will come down to Wisconsin’s ability to keep pace with Stroud and his arsenal of all-conference, skill-position stars, who have looked near unstoppable through the first three games of the season. Good luck with that. Ohio State won its four conference home games last year by 31.3 ppg and is primed for another blowout win here.
The play: Ohio State -19.5.
