Chris Streveler thanks girlfriend, reacts to being cut by Jets

Chris Streveler was surely disappointed about being cut by the Jets on Tuesday, but took the time to express gratitude.

“Thankful for this ones support day in and day out,” Streveler wrote on his Instagram Story, tagging his girlfriend, Taylor Lavonne, a traveling nurse.

Streveler also reacted to the news of his release on Twitter.

“Tough business,” he wrote in a quote-tweet of Adam Schefter’s report of the news. “So thankful for the opportunities this preseason. This is just another step in the journey. The work and the mindset don’t change!”

The 27-year-old Streveler, who appeared in a total of seven games for the Arizona Cardinals in 2020 and 2021, told The Post earlier this month that he knew it would be an uphill climb to make the Jets’ final roster.

Zach Wilson — who is expected to miss a couple weeks with a knee injury) — , Joe Flacco and Mike White are the three quarterbacks remaining on the Jets’ roster.

“I knew the situation when I signed,’’ Streveler said. “I know with Zach, Mike and Joe, the [quarterback] room is pretty solidified. But for me, it’s an opportunity to be in an NFL organization. You don’t get those opportunities often.’’

Jets coach Robert Saleh had said Streveler had “probably one of the greatest preseasons in the history of football” after the quarterback led the team to three comeback victories in the exhibition contest.
