Chris Streveler, Jason Pinnock among notable Jets roster cuts

Tuesday marked cut day across the NFL and the Jets made moves to trim their roster from 80 down to 53 by the 4 p.m. deadline.

Gang Green made several notable cuts, including QB Chris Streveler, who had “probably one of the greatest preseasons in the history of football” according to coach Robert Saleh.

Receiver Calvin Jackson, defensive lineman Bradless Anae and safety Jason Pinnock were also among those the Jets moved on from.

Denzel Mims, the wideout who requested a trade last week, was kept on the 53-man roster.

“He’s going to be here as far as I’m concerned,” Saleh said after Mims racked up seven catches for 102 yards and a TD against the Giants after his trade request. All of the other questions are for Joe [Douglas].”

Fullback Nick Bawden was moved to the injured reserve.

Players waived by Jets can be re-signed if they clear waivers in the next 24 hours.
