House hopeful Yuh-Line Niou helps injured man outside NYC polling place

Now that’s constituent service!

House candidate Yuh-Line Niou came to the aid of a man who fell and hit his head while she was greeting voters in Tuesday’s primary election outside a public school in Brooklyn.

Niou, a state assemblywoman who is running in the Democratic primary for the redrawn 10th Congressional District stretching from lower Manhattan through brownstone Brooklyn down to Borough Park, was all smiles outside the polling site at PS 142 in Carroll Gardens around noon.

Happiness turned to alarm when a passing voter tripped over a police barricade and fell head first first onto the pavement.

“Oh, you’re bleeding!,” said Niou, one of the first to approach the man.

Niou and a campaign volunteer held tissues to the unidentified man’s bleeding head as he sat up on the pavement.

The legislator and others brought the injured man to a nearby bench to stabilize him as a firefighter-cum-campaign volunteer fetched his first aid kit.

The man said he was OK, but an ambulance arrived and transported him to a local hospital.

Niou, who is backed by the lefty Working Families Party and actress Cynthia Nixon, is considered one of four leading contenders for the House seat — along with former House impeachment lawyer Dan Goldman, Manhattan City Councilwoman Carlina Rivera and Rep. Mondaire Jones.

Brooklyn Assemblywoman Jo Anne Simon and former Congresswoman and ex-Brooklyn DA Elizabeth Holtzman are also running.

Polls are open until 9 p.m.
