Naomi Osaka’s relationship status confirmed after cryptic tweet

Naomi Osaka’s cryptic tweet did not mean the end of her relationship.

TMZ Sports reported on Wednesday that Osaka and rapper Cordae are still together. Indeed, they’re “actually doing better than ever” and remain “happily in love,” according to their sources.

The internet had been rife with speculation since early July when Osaka tweeted, “If a guy constantly has to tell you he’s a good guy, there’s about a 1000% chance he’s not.”

The tweet has since been deleted.

TMZ’s report followed a different tweet from Osaka, which said, “People really just believe anything and run with whatever lol.”

Cordae’s music video for the song “Chronicles” has over 6.6 million views on YouTube since its release six months ago.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old former world No. 1 Osaka has not played her best tennis since winning her second major at the 2021 Australian Open.

She withdrew from last year’s French Open, skipped Wimbledon to focus on her mental health and lost in the third round of the U.S. Open to Leylah Fernandez. During the stretch, she was candid about her mental health struggles.

This year, she lost in the third round in Australia, was bounced in the first round of the French and missed Wimbledon with an Achilles injury. She also cited Wimbledon not giving points to players after Russians were not allowed to play as being a de-motivating factor.

In July, Osaka also split with Wim Fissette, who had been her coach since 2019. She has fallen to No. 41 in the world.

On Tuesday, Osaka defeated Qinwen Zheng in the round of 32 to at the Silicon Valley Classic. She faces Coco Gauff on Thursday.

Nonetheless, at +650, Osaka has the second-best odds on DraftKings to win the U.S. Open. Iga Swiatek is the favorite +225.
