Connor McDavid’s biggest fan has his back on and off the ice.
The Oilers captain — who has been surging in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, with Edmonton inching closer to a Western Conference Finals appearance — has been supported all season long by girlfriend Lauren Kyle, an interior designer.
Taking to Instagram in May, Kyle celebrated the Oilers’ “playoff szn” run with fellow Edmonton WAGs, as the group cheered on the team from Rogers Place. In the post, Kyle is seen wearing a personalized “McDavid” jacket from Canadian-based artist Rahmaan Hameed.

Relationship beginnings
Kyle hails from Toronto and has been dating McDavid, 25, since 2016, according to FanBuzz. In October 2017 she posted a playful Instagram photo of the couple in honor of “national boyfriend day.”
Jet-setters
McDavid, the first-overall pick by the Oilers in the 2015 NHL Draft, appeared frequently on Kyle’s Instagram feed in 2018, when the pair galavanted around Europe, bouncing around France, the UK, and the Netherlands.
“Damn we made it to Amsterdam,” Kyle quipped in May 2018.
Red carpet-ready
When McDavid hits the red carpet for a special event, Kyle is almost always by his side. Kyle has accompanied the two-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner to the NHL Awards on multiple occasions, most recently in 2019, when the pair posed together in Las Vegas.
For the big night, Lauren opted for a pale-colored sheath with a plunging neckline while McDavid opted for a navy suit.
Building their future
Though the internet has strong feelings about Kyle and McDavid’s sleek Alberta home, the couple is seriously pleased about the final result. In fact, in a November 2021 interview with Architectural Digest, McDavid dubbed his abode “the designated team party house.”
“Connor being the captain, we knew we were going to have to host a lot,” Kyle said at the time. “This house feels like it’s definitely an entertainer’s home.”
Should the Oilers defeat the Calgary Flames on Thursday in Game 5 of their second-round series, perhaps McDavid — who has six goals, 14 assists, and 25 points in the postseason — will get the weekend started with a celebration.
