John Daly celebrates hot PGA Championship start at Hooters

John Daly is living his best life at the PGA Championship.

The 56-year-old two-time major champion hit up Hooters on Thursday, where he was all smiles in Tulsa, Oklahoma while posing with Hooters girls outside the famous restaurant.

“Happy to stop by and see my Tulsa @hooters family and grab me some wings on the fly!” Daly wrote on Instagram.

Daly was also spotted cruising around the course with a cigarette in hand at Southern Hills Country Club in a golf cart the PGA allows him to use because of osteoarthritis in his right knee. True to form, the 56-year-old Daly sported colorful printed pants and tinted shades.

The pro has a longstanding relationship with Hooters, which became the focus of his Masters trip in April.

Daly posts up at his big tent in the parking lot outside Augusta National each year to sell merchandise to fans — a tradition the golf legend has continued with the restaurant chain since 1997.

Daly started off strong on Thursday in the first round of the PGA Championship, before he suffered a late-round plummet in the sweltering heat at Southern Hills Country Club.

Daly was the first group off the tee and birdied the first and fifth holes to put his name near the top of the leaderboard, where he was positioned throughout most of the round.

But Daly, who won the PGA Championship in 1991, had four bogeys in the final five holes, including on the final three holes. After Daly’s 2-over 72, he skipped post-round interviews.

Daly’s Hooters stop came days after the news that he was disqualified from the first PGA Tour Champions’ major of the year, the Regions Tradition, due to him failing to sign his scorecard.
