Texas 18-wheeler spills thousands of pounds of eggs

Dallas just got turned into a big omelet.

A truck driver spilled almost 30,000 pounds of eggs when his 18-wheeler smashed into an overpass near the Texas city’s downtown during Monday morning rush hour.

The driver was traveling westward on Interstate-30 when he struck the bridge, causing the massive splatter, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram said.

Clean-up crews quickly scrambled to divert traffic as they cleaned up the eggy mess, shutting down I-30 for several hours. According to officials, fuel had also leaked on road.

The driver appeared to be unharmed.

Eggland’s Best brand said in a statement that the number of eggs on the truck was valued at around $90,000 and that they will “expedite to replace what was lost,” assuring stores the incident would not affect supplies.
