Here’s why Amber Heard claims Johnny Depp won’t look at her in court

Amber Heard got emotional on the stand Tuesday after her attorney asked why ex-husband Johnny Depp refuses to look her in the eyes.

“Because he’s guilty,” Heard, 36, said while looking at the jury in Fairfax, Virginia.

“He knows he’s lying,” she added, choking up slightly.

The dramatic moment came after the “Aquaman” actress’s testimony on Monday, during which she revealed that Depp, 58, had sworn he would never meet her eyes again after she filed for divorce.

According to audio played in court, Depp told Heard that “you will not see my eyes again” during a conversation in a San Francisco hotel room in 2016, the year of their split.

When Depp attorney Camille Vasquez asked if her ex-husband had kept his promise, Heard responded in the affirmative.

“He can’t [look at me],” Heard said.

Vasquez quickly followed up with, “Mr. Depp hasn’t looked at you once during this trial?”

“Not that I have noticed,” the actress replied.

On Tuesday, Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft questioned the actress about how Depp hasn’t looked at her during their bombshell defamation trial.

The “Aquaman” star said it must be because Depp is “guilty,” adding, “Otherwise, why can’t he look at me?”

“I survived,” Heard continued. “I survived that man, and I’m here, and I can look at him.”

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million in defamation over an op-ed she published in the Washington Post in December 2018 in which she called herself “a public figure representing domestic abuse.”

He denies that he abused her, and argues her claims ruined his career and reputation.
