Paramount+ has dropped a sneak peek of Sylvester Stallone as a New York mafia capo in the upcoming series “Tulsa King.”
The 75-year-old actor is set to star as mob boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi in the new show from “Yellowstone,” “Mayor of Kingstown” and “1883” creator Taylor Sheridan.
While an official release date has not been announced, the first episode is expected to drop in the fall of 2022.
The streaming platform shared the photo on social media, showing Stallone standing in the middle of a city street in a dark suit and looking off into the distance.
The show will mark the legendary actor’s first leading role in television series despite his nearly 50-year career.
The actor — best known for his roles in the “Rocky,” “Rambo” and “Creed” franchises — will star as Manfredi, who has recently been released from prison after 25 years and is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
As he realizes that he may be on the outs with his mob family, he begins to piece together his own “crew” of unlikely characters to build a criminal empire.
Stallone is known for playing rough-and-tough macho men with chips on their shoulders, similar to who “The General” is described to be.
He has been working steadily since his career began in 1969. According to the Internet Movie Database, at IMDb.com, Stallone recently wrapped production on “Samaritan,” and “The Expendables 4” and is currently working on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” as well as “Tulsa King.”
