Man shot and killed in Bronx apartment after answering knock at door

A man was shot and killed in a Bronx apartment after answering a knock at the door on Monday night, police and sources said.
Daniel Valdez, 43, was struck in his torso by a gunman who knocked at the door of the residence on Irwin Avenue near West 234th Street in Kingsbridge just before 6 p.m., the NYPD and sources said.

The victim was taken by EMS to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
No suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made.
