ACC Tournament future bets: Virginia, Virginia Tech capable of run

With the ACC Tournament set to kick off Tuesday in Brooklyn, Action Network analysts Matt Cox and Stuckey are here to give their best futures bets.

The Duke Blue Devils are odds-on favorites to add a postseason crown to their regular season title, but Cox is looking further down the board.

“The two I like the best — although I don’t love them — are Virginia Tech and Virginia for the predominant reason they avoid Duke’s side of the bracket,” Cox says.

The guys also agree that seeds 8-15 present no value whatsoever and whereas a team like Syracuse (50-1) would normally have some value, this isn’t the year to back it.

“Duke is built to destroy ‘Cuse,” Cox explains. “With their shooting…I think they roll ‘Cuse for the third consecutive time.”

As for Stuckey, he concurs that the focus in the futures market should be on the bottom half of the bracket given he believes Duke is easily the best team in the conference.

“The team that I had circled across the board was Virginia Tech,” Stuckey says. “With [Virginia Tech], you’re kind of hoping [North] Carolina gets knocked out by Virginia.”
