Jeff Nelson irked by Clint Frazier’s Yankee exit: ‘Have not walked the walk’

Jeff Nelson seems glad to see the back of Clint Frazier.

After new Cubs outfielder Frazier tweeted this week about his excitement to leave the Yankees, the former reliever — and co-host of The Post’s “Pinstripe Pod” podcast — clapped back at him.

“Here is something for you,” Nelson tweeted. “You can talk the talk but, you have not walked the walk. Love the confidence but, you have to do something on the field.”

That wasn’t all. Nelson got involved in the replies, too.

“Don’t talk s–t about the Yankees when they gave him a chance so, screw you,” Nelson tweeted.

Frazier saw the big leagues for parts of five seasons with the Yankees, playing 228 total games with a .239/.327/.434 slash line. Last season, he struggled with vision problems and dizziness, playing 66 games.

The Cubs signed Frazier to a $1.5 million deal, at which he expressed his excitement on social media. Frazier did, however, clarify: “Me being happy I’m on the Cubs has nothing to do with Yankees fans. It has to do with the fact that I’m happy to be able to play somewhere I’ll get a better chance at playing.”

Nelson did eventually clarify that he hopes Frazier succeeds in Chicago.

“I don’t like when guys fail, this is a tough game,” Nelson tweeted. “Just be thankful you had an opportunity that you did not succeed at, move on without your stupid comments.”
