Teen stabs classmate with scissors inside Bronx high school

A Bronx 15-year-old stabbed a classmate with a pair of scissors inside a city school Friday afternoon, sources said.

The alleged stabber was fighting with a 14-year-old inside the Walton High School campus in the Jerome Park section around 1 p.m., according to law enforcement sources.

The male suspect then retrieved a pair of scissors from his backpack and stabbed the other boy several times in the ribs.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. The older teen was taken into custody and arrested.

“Safety is our top priority, and NYPD and EMS immediately responded to an incident on the Walton Campus today,” said DOE spokesman Nathaniel Styer. “The student is in stable condition and we will provide the school with additional safety and counseling support, as well as work closely with NYPD on their investigation.”
