Eagles cornerback tries to lure Odell Beckham with Giants revenge

With the Seahawks and the Patriots currently in the mix for Odell Beckham Jr.’s potential landing spots, Eagles cornerback Darius Slay is now tossing Philadelphia’s name into the ring.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Slay — who joined the Eagles in 2020 after seven seasons with the Lions — tried to entice Beckham to sign with Philly by throwing in an extra incentive: some good, old-fashioned NFC East revenge.

“Aye @obj we haven’t played the Giants yet this year,” Slay tweeted. “Just saying!!!”

Beckham spent the first five years of his career in New York, where he was drafted in 2014, before being traded to the Cleveland Browns in early 2019. He split from the Browns last week after a two-and-a-half-year union.

On Tuesday, the three-time Pro Bowler officially cleared waivers and, as of Wednesday morning, has not decided on his next destination.

And while Slay’s proposition is all well and good, Beckham prefers to be with a playoff contender and in a winning environment, ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously reported. The Eagles — not to mention the Giants — are both sitting at 3-6. They’ll face each other for the first time this season on Nov. 28.

Beyond Slay, other NFL players are said to have reached out to Beckham, touting their respective organizations, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

In the meantime, it seems Beckham’s fans are continuing to put in their team requests to a certain member of the receiver’s inner circle: his girlfriend, Lauren Wood.
