Alec Baldwin takes NYC stroll with Hilaria, promotes podcast after ‘Rust’ shooting
Almost three weeks after the deadly shooting on the set of “Rust,” a “rough”-looking Alec Baldwin has returned to the Big Apple, where he was spotted strolling with his family — before he promoted a new episode of his podcast, “Here’s The Thing.”
The 63-year-old actor was photographed Sunday with his wife, Hilaria, 37, as he pushed their child in a stroller in Greenwich Village, where they visited a nail salon and grabbed dinner at Il Cantinori, an Italian eatery on East 10th Street.
On Tuesday, Baldwin took to Instagram to promote the latest episode of “Here’s The Thing,” pointing out that it was recorded in July — some three months before he accidentally shot dead cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza.
“This week, we are releasing an episode of ‘Here’s The Thing’ that was recorded this July with @marlafrazee, an award-winning children’s book author and illustrator,” the actor-producer wrote.
“She is also the true talent behind ‘Boss Baby,’ the business-suit-wearing, hard-charging infant who changed my life. In this episode, Marla tackles serious topics such as babies, birthday cake, boxer shorts, boys, and roller coasters. Listen now at the link in my bio,” he added.
The last episode of Baldwin’s podcast, which he launched in 2011, was posted on Oct. 11, 10 days before the deadly shooting, according to Fox News, which said its producers, iHeartRadio and WNYC, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
During their Sunday outing, Baldwin appeared downcast and somewhat disheveled as he sported a black jacket, dark shades and a blue mask, while Hilaria was clad in a red and black checkered jacket.
“We were very surprised to see him out because we knew he hasn’t been seen in public [in New York] since the accident,” one diner told the Daily Mail, adding that Baldwin looked “very rough and not very polished” and “very sullen.”
The patron said the couple was not approached by anyone other than wait staff during their meal — but they did stop to exchange a few words with another couple walking with their child in a stroller, the news outlet said.
On Sunday, Hilaria also shared a post on Instagram in which she sought to assure her fans that her family was doing OK.
“Checking in and sharing a few moments. Being together,” the yoga instructor, 37, wrote. “I know you worry. We love you and miss you.”
Hilaria posted a 36-second video montage featuring photos and videos of the six children she and Baldwin share, smiling and laughing while they were lying low in Manchester, Vermont.
Police have been investigating the fatal on-set incident for several weeks and said one of their primary goals is to ascertain how a live round got inside the prop revolver.
No charges have been filed in the case.
