Mother shot by stray bullet while pushing 2-year-old daughter in stroller

A 26-year-old woman was shot by a stray bullet while pushing her 2-year-old daughter in a stroller in the Bronx on Thursday night, police and sources said.

The mother was struck in the thigh near the intersection of Broadway and West 225th Street just before 6 p.m., cops said. Her child was not injured.

Police believe the bullet was fired by an unknown man who fled the area on foot after the shooting.

The woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was still being sought early Friday.
