‘9 to 5’ reunion: Dolly Parton confirms ‘Grace and Frankie’ guest role

Dolly Parton is officially reuniting with her “9 to 5” co-stars, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.

The country music icon, 75, will star in an upcoming episode of “Grace and Frankie,” Netflix confirmed on Friday.

The streaming service didn’t divulge what role Parton will play on the hit sitcom, which has been running since 2015.

Production of the seventh and final season of “Grace and Frankie” wrapped earlier this week, meaning the “Jolene” songstress has already filmed her cameo alongside Tomlin, 82, and Fonda, 83. The episode will air in early 2022.

It’s been 41 years since the trio starred together in “9 to 5” — the classic workplace comedy that grossed more than $100 million at the box office.

Fans have been petitioning for years to have Parton star on “Grace and Frankie,” which focuses on the unlikely friendship of two women whose longtime husbands leave them to marry each other.

Parton has previously spoken of her desire to make an appearance on the show.

“I’ve been trying to do ‘Grace and Frankie’ for years,” the crooner told British TV host Lorraine Kelly on her show, “Lorraine,” back in February.

“We worked so well together on ‘9 to 5,’ it’s a crazy wonderful show,” Parton said. “We’ve been trying to write me in somehow. So when it’s safe for us to actually do a production when they’re back, I’ll probably get around to doing that.”

Meanwhile, back in January, Tomlin told the “Today” show that she was hoping Parton would make a “Grace and Frankie” guest appearance.

“We’re always hoping that will happen,” Tomlin stated. “We have a great role for her this time, I think she will do it. I’m just hoping she will.”
