The Issue: Eric Adams’ win against Republican Curtis Sliwa in the New York City mayoral election.
I was delighted to read that our next mayor, Eric Adams, was elected by New Yorkers (“Saving Gracie,” Nov. 3).
My grandfather never wished newly married couples congratulations until they were married for a year. The first year of marriage is the most difficult, he would say. If they can survive the first year, they have a chance of being a good couple.
So I will wait to congratulate Adams. By next year, we will see if he has what it takes to run the city.
To our current Mayor Putz: Don’t let the door hit you on the way out — and don’t embarrass yourself by running for governor.

Bob McManus just about sums it up: Adams has a tough job ahead of him, trying to please all New Yorkers most of the time (“Wipe the Woke,” PostOpinion, Nov. 3).
I have always trusted The Post’s opinions, but I must admit I was somewhat skeptical when the paper backed Adams.
Can he say, “To hell with the wokesters”? We’ll wait and see.

When Adams assumes the office of mayor, he needs to note that the intrinsic economic health of the city depends a great deal on its actual and perceived safety.
When a woman visiting from New Jersey is slammed to the ground and killed in broad daylight, it gives pause to thousands of people. When another is pushed into an oncoming train by a mentally disturbed person, it makes people think twice about public transportation.
How he deals with gun violence and guns on the streets will be a bellwether of his time in office.
Adams is being handed a city in decline. I wish him luck.

With the reign of terror over, Adams doesn’t have to worry about having shoes to fill. Just don’t cast a giant shadow on New York City.
Good, honest folks just want a fair shake in taxes and great public schooling for their children. Adams, it’s time to step up to the plate and hit a homer for Gotham.

New York City voters have just elected Bill de Blasio 2 — Eric Adams.
When are residents of the Big Apple going to realize that Democratic leaders across the country have proven to be dismal failures? They are simply incapable of governing. For some reason, they do not seem to possess the wherewithal to get the job done.
You’d think city dwellers would have learned something after suffering through eight years of Comrade de Blasio.
A city that was once great will unfortunately continue to deteriorate.

Our mayor-elect, Eric Adams, has his work cut out for him, since de Blasio ruined the city.
De Blasio showed zero support for the NYPD. He put vaccine mandates in place for restaurants and bars. He has no clue how hard and long firefighters, the NYPD and sanitation and EMS personnel worked during the beginning of the pandemic without a vaccine, and now they are being treated poorly.
He made so many mistakes, and he has lost the trust of the people. So now the next mayor and his administration must regain the trust of all city workers and the public.

Adams has to do a lot more than just be better than de Blasio, but he should clear that hurdle in street shoes.

Congrats to Adams. New Yorkers have had enough of de Blasio’s nonsense.
Adams has a tough road ahead, battling subway crime, homelessness and other issues. But he will fulfill his promises.
