Upper West Side mom hopes protest helps end school mask mandates

An Upper West Side mom wants parents to know how it feels to wear a mask all day, like their children do in school, and is asking them to “mask like a kid.”

Natalya Murakhver is calling for in-school mask mandates to be dropped and said having adults wear masks for seven hours straight will help raise awareness and build empathy for kids.

“We need to give them their childhoods back'” Murakhver said. “This is now a second school year in masks.”

She is asking parents to pledge to wear the face coverings Monday and then post images of themselves, and describe their experiences, on social media with the hashtag “MaskLikeAKid.”
