Fans of mass murderer Charles Manson used part of his ashes for a pair of tribute tattoos.
Patrick Boos said he followed the example of his wife Deanne, who wanted to become the first woman to sport a tattoo featuring Manson’s ashes, according to TMZ. The Niagara Falls couple have matching tattoos of Manson’s face created by artist Ryan Almighty, who said he mixed the ashes with red and black inks to create the likeness.
Boos already had a tattoo on his forehead of “Helter Skelter” using Manson’s ashes, which Almighty said he obtained after Manson’s cremation.
Manson, who died in prison in 2017, was a cult leader who led his followers, known as the Manson family, in a series of notorious murderers, including pregnant Hollywood actor Sharon Tate, in the late 1960s in California.
The murders were the subject of “Helter Skelter,” a 1974 book.
