Dodgers vs. Braves prediction: Max Fried will close out LA

The Atlanta Braves are 12-1 in Max Fried’s last 13 starts and will turn to him to try to get a big Game 5 win in Los Angeles against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Fried has a 1.47 ERA with five home runs and nine walks allowed in 86 innings since the beginning of August, and since the 2019 All-Star break, he has allowed three runs or fewer in all six of his starts against the Dodgers.

The Dodgers entered Game 4 having hit just seven home runs in eight games with a .191 batting average with men in scoring position while averaging 3.4 runs per game. In the regular season, they were only team in the National League to average at least five runs per game during the regular season.

The Braves entered Wednesday having scored at least four runs in 14 of their last 20 games and owning MLB’s fourth-best bullpen ERA since the All-Star break. They also had a 17-4 record in their previous 21 games and will improve that mark on Thursday in Los Angeles.
