A Colorado man sought in his wife’s murder was busted at a Sag Harbor hotel this week and is due to be arraigned in Suffolk County court on Thursday, state police said.
William Cruz, 31, was wanted in the slaying of Masany Cruz, who was last seen alive on Sept. 14 — one day before her husband disappeared, New York State Police said in a press release.
Police said Masany Cruz, 29, who was also the subject of a New Jersey missing person report, was found dead in the couple’s home, while her husband was tracked to the Sag Harbor Inn and was charged on a fugitive warrant Wednesday.
It was unclear why there was a missing person report filed for the slain woman in New Jersey.
William Cruz was held by Southhampton Town police pending his arraignment in Suffolk County First District Court on the warrant, police said.
Authorities said William Cruz had arrived at the Long Island hotel on Sept. 18.
