White Sox vs. Astros line, prediction: Power drives ALDS to Game 5

The Chicago White Sox have their season on the line Tuesday against the Houston Astros and will look to Carlos Rodon to keep their championship hopes alive.

Injuries limited Rodon to 24 starts and 132 ²/₃ innings this season, but he was electric with a 2.37 ERA, opponents batting average of .189, and 12.6 strikeouts to 2.4 walks per nine innings.

The White Sox enter Tuesday 16-8 overall in Rodon’s starts and 5-1 in his six starts since the beginning of August with Rodon posting a 1.93 ERA and .193 opponents batting average in that span.

Due to Monday’s rainout, Chicago will also have five guys in the bullpen with a 2021 ERA of 3.05 of better in Craig Kimbrel, Garrett Crochet, Liam Hendriks, Ryan Tepera and Jose Ruiz.

At home, the White Sox are 54-28 including the postseason, which is the best mark in the American League. And with Chicago slugging the most home runs on a per-at-bat basis in home games of any team remaining in the AL playoffs, the series will return to Houston for Game 5.

The play: White Sox, -115.
