Yankees vs. Blue Jays prediction: Robbie Ray will propel Toronto

Warning. Stitches is 3-0 in Thursday night NFL games. Go, Jags!

Well the Yankees responded, didn’t they? On the verge of being left outside the playoff bubble they rattled off seven straight wins (but an eighth did not happen Wednesday night in Toronto) and are likely to snag the top wild card in the AL.

Corey Kluber (5-3, 3.82 ERA) goes for New York on Thursday. Kluber has been clubbed for 16 runs over his last 34 innings but the way the Bombers are hitting does it really matter? The Blue Jays, who may need to run the table to catch the Red Sox and outkick the pesky Mariners, hand the ball to Robbie Ray (13-6, 2.68 ERA, 244 Ks). Ray has limited opponents to five runs over his last 18 innings and has lost twice in his last 15 starts. 20 units on the desperate Jays.

Don Reed, Met fan/hater: “Rename the team, the New York Heliums (nothing but hot air).” Fish 3, Mutts 2. Goodbye Luis Rojas. Can’t wait for next spring when Cohen and Co. talk division title again. Down -471 donhahns.
