Gunman arrested in shooting was wearing bulletproof vest, police sources say

A man wearing a bulletproof vest was arrested after he shot another man in Queens Thursday morning, police and police sources said.

The 42-year-old allegedly shot a 28-year-old in the left arm at Sutphin Boulevard and Ferndale Avenue in Jamaica around 7 a.m., cops said. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

The gunman was arrested on the scene wearing a bulletproof vest and in possession of additional ammunition, police sources said. Charges against him were pending.
