FBI agents returned to the Florida home of Brian Laundrie’s parents Thursday to collect “personal items” that will help in a massive manhunt for the 23-year-old fugitive.
“The FBI is at the Laundrie home today to collect some personal items belonging to Brian that will assist the canines in their search for Brian,” family attorney Steven Bertolino told The Post. “There is nothing more to this.”
The feds’ visit marks at least the fourth time the FBI has been at the North Port house since Laundrie, sought for questioning in the disappearance and death of his girlfriend, Long Island native Gabby Petito, fled Sept. 14.
Laundrie is the sole person of interest in Petito’s death after she vanished late last month while the couple was on a cross-country trip.
Petito, 22, was found dead on Sept. 19 at a remote Wyoming campground, with her death declared a homicide by Teton County Coroner Brent Blue.
Laundrie returned home alone on Sept. 1, refused to cooperate with authorities, and went missing after his parents said he went for a hike.
His parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, reported him missing on Sept. 17, telling authorities that he went to the 25,000-acre Carlton Reserve and never returned.
The marshy park has been the subject of a massive search for nearly two weeks.
The FBI’s first reported visit to the home came when Laundrie was reported missing and agents arrived at the home with North Port police.
The agency also executed a search warrant at the house on Sept. 20, seizing various items and towing the family’s Mustang to search for evidence.
The feds were back on Sunday, reportedly to gather DNA evidence — and again on Thursday for more items to assist the search, according to Bertolino.
