Listen to Episode 74 of ‘Blue Rush’: Time to Fire Jason Garrett? feat. Jay Feely

Fans were leaving MetLife Stadium on Sunday in a tie game. As the Falcons got in good field goal range, the fans knew what was coming … another heartbreaking kick delivering defeat in the final seconds. Many chose to beat the traffic instead of having to witness more pain on the day they honored mighty No. 10, Eli Manning. The Giants are now 0-3 and nothing short of a mess. So much so, their owner got booed off the stage and then allegedly kicked over a few garbage cans after the loss.

To talk about the Giants’ 17-14 loss to the Falcons and what to do next, we bring you a new episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast with Paul Schwartz and two-time Giants Super Bowl champion kicker Lawrence Tynes, featuring an interview with another former Giants kicker Jay Feely.

Blue Rush Podcast with Paul, Lawrence & Jake:

  • FIRE GARRETT?: Is it time to fire Jason Garrett? Tynes believes they need to move on from him. This has been going on for 19 games. They need a new voice. Paul argues whether Freddie Kitchens calling the plays will make any difference. Coaches need to be held accountable and the Giants offense continues to look lifeless.
  • EVAN ENGRAM: The Giants tight end got booed once again Sunday after he fumbled and gets cheered when he is taken out of the game. The whole situation is a mess and he might be better off on a different team. The talent is there undoubtedly, but it could be a mental thing now as the fans have piled on.
  • INJURIES: Losing Blake Martinez to a torn ACL for the season is brutal. Hard to imagine Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard play next week. We finally saw a sprinkle of Kadarius Toney, but only two catches. It’s not going to get any easier for Daniel Jones without a few receivers potentially for a few weeks or longer.

Jay Feely Interview:
Former Giants & NFL kicker, NFL on CBS analyst

  • KICKERS: Justin Tucker is the best kicker in NFL history. He’s above 91 percent for his career, which is hard to do for such a long time.
  • IRRELEVANCE: Giants and Jets in the biggest market in the country and are both irrelevant and it’s not even October. It falls on the head coach to win games.
  • ELI MANNING: Eli was the best teammate you could ever have.
