Tim Tebow joining ESPN’s ‘First Take’ as new Stephen A. Smith foe

Tim Tebow will be joining ESPN’s “First Take” as one of Stephen A. Smith’s new debate foes, the network announced Thursday.

The former Heisman Trophy winner will go head-to-head with Smith on Fridays, while Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin will co-host the show with Smith on Mondays.

The other days will feature a rotation of ESPN personalities, which includes Mina Kimes and Kendrick Perkins, duking it out with Smith.

Molly Qerim will remain on the show as a moderator.

The mild-mannered, Bible-toting Tebow will prove an intriguing foil to Smith, whose on-air outbursts have made him the face of ESPN and, in turn, given him autonomy over the makeup of the daily TV show.

Smith pushed ESPN executives to remove Kellerman from the program because he felt they didn’t work well together, The Post’s Andrew Marchand previously reported.

ESPN announced the addition of Tebow and Irvin a day after Kellerman made his final appearance on the show.

The 34-year-old Tebow has worked for ESPN as a college football analyst in the past and is coming off a failed NFL comeback attempt this summer.

Tebow tried to convert from a quarterback to tight end with Jacksonville, under his former college head coach Urban Meyer, but was cut before the season. He previously toiled in the Mets minor-league system for five years.

Smith and Tebow are close friends, and Tebow appeared on “First Take” as a guest in 2017.

Irvin, the 55-year-old former Cowboys star, has also appeared on “First Take.”

The show’s new format will debut Monday.
