Attempted murder suspect nabbed after shooting at cops following 5-hour chase

An attempted murder suspect opened fire on police and swiped one of their SUVs — sending them on a wild, five-hour chase across Pennsylvania and New Jersey late Monday, according to local reports.

The mayhem began around 7 p.m. in Delaware County, Pa., when police tried to pull over the 41-year-old suspect, Arthur Henry Disanto, who was riding a motorcycle, WPVI reported.

Disanto — wanted on an attempted murder charge in connection to a shooting last month — fled from Folcroft police officers and was later stopped on Lindbergh Boulevard in Southwest Philadelphia, cops told the outlet.

But as investigators closed in, Disanto allegedly got off the motorcycle and opened fire on them, authorities told the outlet.

He also allegedly stole a Folcroft police SUV and put on some tactical gear he grabbed from the cruiser, the station reported.

Police found him around midnight near the Washington Way apartments in Blackwood, where he allegedly exchanged gunfire with cops again, the outlet reported.

Disanto and an officer were hit and both are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

Court records obtained by WPVI show that DiSanto Jr. was wanted for allegedly shooting a woman in her Media home on July 3, and has a criminal history dating back to the 1990s.
