Max Kellerman’s time at “First Take” is coming to an end, ESPN announced Tuesday.
Kellerman, whose removal from the popular TV show starring Stephen A. Smith had been expected since last week, will host a new, unspecified television series on the network, ESPN said.
The 48-year-old will also join ESPN’s national morning radio show alongside former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson and NBA analyst Jay Williams.
The new radio show will debut Sept. 7.
It’s unclear when Kellerman will make his last appearance on “First Take,” which featured his lively sports debates with Smith for the last five years.
ESPN also did not announce its plans to replace Kellerman, who had taken over for Skip Bayless.
According to The Post’s Andrew Marchand, the network is expected to have a rotation of guests go head to head with Smith, who in 2019 signed a five-year, $60 million contract to become the network’s highest-paid on-air personality.
Smith, a former newspaper journalist, joined “First Take” in 2012. The show began in 2007.
