NYPD officer shot in foot in The Bronx

An NYPD lieutenant was shot in the foot around midnight Saturday in The Bronx during a fight with a suspect, law enforcement sources said.

Gunfire erupted at Lyman Place and East 169th Street in the Foxhurst section after police responded to a late Friday night 911 call there, according to the sources.

The uniformed lieutenant was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to recover, the sources said.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting or if any suspects were immediately apprehended.
