Everyone’s least-favorite Avenger sets Disney+ series premiere

Disney+ has targeted a Thanksgiving premiere for its latest “Avengers” spinoff.

Marvel’s bow-and-arrow-slinging “Hawkeye” will premiere Wednesday, Nov. 24, in the latest installment of its exclusive Disney+ TV deal.

Jeremy Renner, 50, will reprise his “Avengers” role of Clint Barton, a k a Hawkeye, and the show also will feature Hailee Steinfeld, 24, as mentee Kate Bishop and Florence Pugh, 25, as “Black Widow” spy Yelena Belova. In the new iteration, Belova is seeking vengeance against Barton, after assuming he’s responsible for her sister Natasha’s death.

With the announcement, Marvel shared a first-look photo — showcasing Steinfeld and Renner — on social media Thursday.

For fans who can’t wait until November for new content, the company will release “What If…?” on Aug. 11. The animated Disney+ series, starring Jeffrey Wright, will depict alternative takes on the existing Marvel heroes and stories.

The November “Hawkeye” premiere follows other Marvel shows, including “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” and “Loki,” plus the pandemic box office hitBlack Widow.” Other upcoming releases include “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” on Sept. 3, “Eternals” on Nov. 5 and the highly anticipated “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” starring Tom Halland and premiering on Dec. 17.
