The 2021 NBA Draft class has some incredibly talented… girlfriends.
Corey Kispert — the Gonzaga product, who was selected No. 15 overall by the Wizards at Thursday night’s draft — heard NBA commissioner call his name and immediately turned to girlfriend Jennifer Wirth. The pair shared a sweet hug and kiss before he took to the stage inside Barclays Center to shake the commissioner’s hand.
While Kispert had his moment, so did Wirth, who stunned in a white dress — a much different look than her Gonzaga basketball uniform.
Kispert, a 6-3 forward, and the Bulldogs advanced to the national championship game in 2017, where they fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
In March, Wirth, was named the WCC’s (West Coast Conference) Co-Player of the Year. That same month, the power couple celebrated their three-year anniversary with a “Love & Basketball” inspired video. The footage showed Kispert helping Wirth dunk at an outdoor court.
Wirth’s twin sister, LeeAnne also plays at Gonzaga. The identical twins declared for the 2021 WNBA Draft, but neither were selected.
In her senior year (2020-21), Wirth collected nine double-doubles to rank second in the WCC, as well as second in field-goal percentage. She ranked third in rebounds per game (8.1) in the conference and was the Zags’ rebounding leader for second straight year.
Wirth finished her career shooting 49.6 percent from the floor to rank eighth all time, and became the 19th player in program history to accumulate 600 career rebounds. She also became the 25th player in Zags program history to eclipse 1,000 career points, finishing with 1,051 to rank 22nd overall.
Wirth comes from a famous family of athletes. Her father played MLB for the Oakland Athletics, and sister, Christina, played for WNBA’s Indiana Fever in 2009. Wirth has three other sisters, Alana, Christina, and Theresa, and a brother, Joe.
