A former satellite television installation technician has been arrested in the slaying of an Arkansas woman whose home he visited for a job, authorities said.
Dilan Estes, 26, of Monticello, was taken into custody on a capital murder warrant in the death last year of Crissy Lee Jacks, 44, according to Arkansas State Police on Tuesday.
Police said they believe Estes installed a satellite dish at Jacks’ home in Banks on the day she was murdered.
Jacks’ friends became concerned when they couldn’t get in contact with her and asked authorities to perform a welfare check the next day on July 13, 2020.
Bradley County sheriff’s deputies discovered her stabbed to death in the home, news station KTVE reported.
“Crissy didn’t deserve to die the way she died and no one had the right to take her away,” her mother, Mona Gregory, told the news station before the break in the case.
Loved ones remembered Jacks in her obituary as a “very active girl who enjoyed so many things in life.”
“She was an artist, a body repair mechanic and a mechanical engineering inspector,” the obituary said. “Quite frankly, there wasn’t much this girl didn’t know how to fix. And don’t ever get on a pool table with her!”
Police have not released a motive in the killing.
Estes was taken to the Bradley County jail, where he is being held without bond, police said.
