Man strikes boy, 5, with dirt bike, flees: cops

A man slammed into a 5-year-old boy with a dirt bike in a Bronx park — and then callously ran off after the incident, cops said.

The boy was inside the track and field area of Macombs Dam Park, near Yankee Stadium, at 3:30 p.m. May 16 with his 29-year-old mother and 2-year-old brother when the shirtless suspect — riding the red and white bike “at a high rate of speed” — struck him, according to police.

When parkgoers started arguing with the suspect, he ran off, authorities said.

Another man took the bike, claiming it was his, police said.

The boy, who was bleeding from his nose and mouth, was taken to New York-Presbyterian hospital in stable condition.

Cops released a video of the suspect late Wednesday.

Days after the incident, the NYPD announced that it is trying a new way to crack down on illegal dirt bikes and ATVs in the city — by offering $100 for tips that lead to seizures of them.

Chief of Department Rodney Harrison said the department will pay fed-up residents for reporting the noisy vehicles.
