Alleged NJ taxi thief face-plants when trying to run from cops

An alleged car thief face-planted when trying to run from cops in New Jersey — and he was left with bruises and an eye swollen shut, his mugshot revealed.

The man and a pal boosted a taxi from Union City Tuesday afternoon and cops tracked the 2008 Crown Victoria a few towns north, cops told the Daily Voice.

Fairview cops tried to stop the stolen taxi at Anderson and Day avenues when the driver, Aliaga Guillermo, slammed on the gas and t-boned a small SUV, cops said.

Guillermo ran away but tripped and face-planted, leaving his face bruised and cut up, cops said.

Luis Flores, 23, who was in the passenger seat, was arrested as well, and both were charged with aggravated assault while fleeing law enforcement, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property, according to the report.

The two women in the SUV were treated for minor injuries at Hackensack University Medical Center, cops said.
